In April, Kodak is set to release their new waterproof digital camcorder. It is small and sleek in design and looks to be a valuable camera to have in one’s photographic arsenal. Whether your just looking for a reliable camera for family photographs and video or looking for a good camera you can take out into the wildness with you, the Kodak Playsport Rugged Pocket Cam 1080p Under the Sea is a good choice.

It is a pocket sized camcorder and still shot camera that has the same reliability and photo capability as the Zi8 only waterproof for up to 10 feet underwater. It shoots video at 1080p at 30 fps or 720p at 60 fps. With electronic image stabilization, the camera has little to no image shimmering. It can take still pictures at 5mp. Both images and video can be displayed on a full 2 inch LCD screen.

The Playsport is powered a rechargeable Litium Ion battery making it easier to keep power without spending as much money on batteries. It can use a SD or SDHC memory card increasing storage up to 32 GB. With the maximum memory installed it can shoot video for up to 10 hours.

The KODAK Playsport will be released to most major store chains including Amazon.com, Bestbuy and Kodak.com. It is currently available for preorder on Amazon.com.
